I am really loving Sally's Focus on Life weekly blog prompts.  When I get the e-mail from Sally the words find a comfy spot in my brain and roll around in there while the week goes by, until the right moment and a camera captures it (thanks to phones a camera is always on my person :-)).

This week's prompt is "Take Time." It's a call to take time for yourself, guilt free.  I was able to take some time this week to make some beads, but another way I frequently take time is on Sunday mornings.  I used to teach Sunday School, but I decided to step down at the end of last year.  Now on most Sundays I drop the kids off then head to the nearest Starbucks to read the paper, get caught up electronically, or, as was the case last Sunday, edit Michael's most recent writing project.  With the show and school, he's been a very busy 10 year old, but I am enormously proud of him - he's been so diligent about it all and is kicking butt and taking names.  Have a great week everyone!

  1. Hi Elizabeth,
Taking time for you no matter how or where you do it is a good thing.

  2. I cannot remember the last time I went to Starbuck's (or any coffee shop for that matter) and SAT DOWN to enjoy my coffee. THAT'S an idea worth re-visiting! It's so nice refreshing to read how proud you are of your kids...really.

  6. I love actually staying at the coffee shop to sit and enjoy my drink. We always seem to be on the go and it's great to take that time to sit, enjoy and focus on something other than hurrying around!

  7. Beautiful beads, Elisabeth!

I had forgotten how much I enjoy a little quiet time in a coffee shop. I think I'll make that my Me time one day this week. Thanks for the great suggestion!

  10. Your beads are wonderful. I have taken one lampworking class & I found it absorbing but harder than I thought. I can't wait until I can afford another class. I am in awe of people who make glass beads. I'm glad that you had some good me time too.

  11. So, you got to drop the kids off and go have some coffee by yourself!? I'm not a parent, but that sounds unheard of in most of the circles I run. You definitely had some good me-time I'm guessing. I hope it was enjoyed immensely!

  12. Elisabeth, I love the shots of your son's paper, I love to look at the way children write their words and how even though it may not be prefect they are so proud of their thoughts! What a lovely way to spend some quite time.
