Perhaps because it is the topic I am most likely to bring up during the lull in conversation, I have developed a beady reputation among my friends. The cool part of this is that I am often the beneficiary of beady bits and pieces. This happened a couple weeks ago when my friend Sarah surprised me with some earring wires and this package of components from a long ago project.
(A facsimile of the original package - see more jewelry components from Plaid here)
Right away I had some ideas, I just needed some free moments to make it happen. I am all about tools these days, and just got my Coiling Gizmo in the mail -- exactly what I needed for this project. I decided to use bare silver colored beading wire to string the pendents to accentuate the spare pendant frames. I used small pieces of coil to cover the crimp tubes where the wire is attached to the pendant, and crimp tube covers near the clasp.
As a thank you I asked Sarah to pick one to keep - but my laptop decided it would not attach the picture to an e-mail to make that decision prior to my post. So Sarah - which do you like? What do the rest of you think?
What a creative way to use the components! Great job!

ReplyDeleteOh I love getting leftovers !!! I have that coiling gizmo which I got on clearance somewhere and keep meaning to take it out - wires all the rage. These came out great!
ReplyDeleteOh cool, you really worked those!
ReplyDeleteThey turned out great Elisabeth! So much cooler than anything I would have ever done with them! I can't decide which one I like best...
