Miss Erin over at Treasures Found puts together the most interesting blog hops - this time it is wrapped around music. Pick a song that is meaningful and design a piece of jewelry that fits the music. While I love all kinds of music, and am really all over the map, only one song would do for this challenge...
I wanted my jewelry piece to reflect what I like so much about Pink and the song. Wild, crazy, so different, so bold, but still working together, harmonizing into something that is strong yet girly. Large quartz focal, dark pink quartz cubes and leopardskin jasper roundels strung with black seed beads on one side, large dark pink quartz nugget wire wrapped links on the other side. And the clasp is one side square, and the other curvy.
So turn up the volume as loud as you can stand it and check out what these other wonderful, creative folks have made to go with their song:

I can see that necklace wrapped right around my neck! It is beautiful! Love your song choice!
ReplyDeletePink makes some great music. Love the necklace, esp the clasp!
ReplyDeleteLove Pink! your necklace is wonderful! I love the pink and brown combo.
ReplyDeleteI love the dainty color palette. Love this!
ReplyDeleteI love pink, she is one of my favorites! I love your pink and brown necklace. Dainty and pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh I totally love me some PINK!!! She does make us feel good! I love your necklace and I think if she were to see it she would too! So What you are a rockstar!
ReplyDeleteOkay - I LOVE that song - and have also ruined my ears listening to it in the past! ;) I love what you did with the pink stones. Pink is awesome...the color, the singer and anything PINK!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT! I like to rock out sometimes and usually listen to older rock music from the late 60s and 70s but PINK is someone I instantly fell for~great edge and beat and really, what girl doesn't want that confidence?! Your necklace is perfect for her and this song and for those of us who want to be Pink but just don't let that happen. I cranked my speakers up right away...not as good as cruising down the road, but still goooood!
ReplyDeleteI love Pink's songs, but had to laugh at the though of you driving around with your radio blasting.
ReplyDeleteThe piece you made definately represents Pink and her songs, a bit soft, a bit hard and a bit transparent, but all Pink. Love it!
I enjoyed reading about the inspiration behind your necklace and watching the video behind the song that inspired it! It was addicting. I am also a huge fan of pink hair (mine was two feet long and bright fuchsia in college)!
ReplyDeleteThe necklace is really beautiful. My favorite aspect is the large quartz focal. I also like the combination of one and two stands. Gorgeous!
From another suburban mom & wife, working in a somewhat conservative environment (can a college ever be completely conservative?) I am right there with you on playing ear-bleedingly loud music! And yep, Pink is on the top of my list for that too ;) Her individuality and sense of self are inspiring. We should all be so true to that, shouldn't we?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, your necklace is just perfect for this song and it's attitude! The contradicting clasp is lovely, and the colors and splash of the quartz with pinks and the leopardskin jasper work so well together.
What a song! Pink is a fantastic musician/entertainer. I agree - her courage/attitude is so admirable (and it's great she even managed to get her ex-hubby/now husband again to be in this video! hehe!)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful piece that you have created :) The colours go so well together and I love the mix of square and rounded beads.
I've always loved Pink's music and her in-your-face personality. And her refusal to be just another pretty blonde starlet!
ReplyDeleteA very fitting necklace you created -- it's just perfect. :)
I LOVE that song! Love your piece, too!
ReplyDeleteI TOTALLY feel your bad ass vibe!!! You rocked it Elisabeth! Great design, but even more I love feeling your personality come of out this entire post! A+ woman!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Leaping! {Hugs!}
Okay love the song and your story! Fun design!
ReplyDeleteThat song it definitely the kind of song to listen to LOUD!!! Great choice. Love the asymmetry of your piece - quirky, but pulled together!
ReplyDeleteI love that song! And your necklace so does justice to it!
ReplyDeleteOooh, fantastic song and gorgeous necklace, Elisabeth!!! Love it! Totally suits her :)
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! You nailed it. Excellent song choice, and you are right - a bit of a surprise. But the necklace isn't - you get it right on all counts!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I would never have picked you for a Pink fan! Great piece, so very...well...pink!
ReplyDeleteLove Pink! I just love people who are who they are and tell it like it is! Your necklace is beautiful, the asymmetry catches my eye. Thanks for sharing your story with us.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome choice for a song!! I love how it was your therapy and this necklace feels like it sums up the whole feeling of being a strong and fun all at the same time :)
ReplyDeleteOMG too funny! I've certainly heard the song and knew it was directed toward her husband but I didn't realize he was in the video! Great necklace!
ReplyDeleteElisabeth, I think Pink is so cool I have been a fan of hers for a long time. I really digging the necklace you made it is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteTherese
What a great song and video you chose - I sat here and laughed out loud at a couple of parts! Your necklace is a wonderful interpretation of the song and of Pink herself: powerful but girly. I love it!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! What a fun song that is! I can just picture you jammin' out in your car and taking all sorts of strange looks! I do love Pink's spirit. She is one baddass and that's what makes me love her even more. Your nod to Pink is a perfect embodiment of the rock star life. Thanks so much for playing with me! Enjoy the day.

Beautiful necklace! I really like the colour combo and mix of bead shapes. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love that song and I adore your necklace. I love the dark and the pink together. So amazing!
ReplyDeleteGreat song!! And beautiful necklace !!
ReplyDeletegreat song- love Pink!!! very nice interpretation.
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of both Pink and super loud music (I can't tell you how many times my poor hubby has been blasted when starting the car or turning on our kitchen radio), and now I'm also a huge fan of that awesome necklace! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteElisabeth, there is such a harmony in the chaos of different beads and that clasp, just like Pink!! Beautifully symbolizes the song and pink herself! Edgy but girl!! Perfect!
ReplyDeleteOh and I just had to crank up the speakers and sing along when I listened to the song!! LOVE IT!!
What a great story, and what a terrific realization of it -- love the balance of the girly and the tough. I think we all have those moments when a good, loud, rocking out in the car is the only thing that gets us through the day, and Pink's a good girl to rock out with!
ReplyDeleteI love Pink! :D What a great song and story. And the necklace is perfect!
ReplyDeleteStunning! I am so in love with pink right now!
