And I didn't really know it.  Sad.  But now I do!  Here's the story...

When I first got the beading bug, I did as you all probably did, and hopped on Google to see what kind of beady goodness I could find out there.  I remember an address popping up not too far away, but I drove past the little mall and didn't see it.  Years go by.  Right after Christmas I was near by (the little mall has a great bike store and I was buying a present for Greg) and as Emma and I pulled out my eye caught a tiny, tiny sign that said "Beads Ltd."

We did a quick U-turn and decided to check it out.  There was a small sign on the door, with hours posted as Monday-Wednesday and Sunday afternoons only (please ring bell for entry).

What a TREASURE TROVE.  The entire store is about the size of my dining room, and every surface is covered with beads.  Can you find the doors and windows in this picture?

Almost all of it is glass, but in sizes, shape and colors that I haven't seen before.  Name a shape an a color and they have it.  Green triangles?  Pink leaves?  Yellow bananas?  Red fish?  They have them.  They also carry trade beads, some art glass, some findings, and an impressive selection of seed beads.  Their hours, as I said, are somewhat limited, and they only take cash or checks, but they are super friendly, and I know I will return.  Of course I could not leave without doing some shopping, and here is what I brought home:

At the top are some awesome handmade lamp work tear drop beads.  I am in love with them, here is a closer look:

Happy beading!

  2. Those are amazing! Did you happen to notice if they have a website? I actually have two bead stores here, but neither of them carry anything like that.

  3. What a find! How lucky you are to have a shop like that close by. There are a couple of bead shops by me but nothing like the stock this shop is carrying. Do they have a website?

  4. How lucky you are to have such a fantastic supplier of beads on your doorstep.

My nearest local shop just has the same old beads gathering more and more dust as the weeks go by.
