Yep, the quest for new tools hasn't ended.  That's the danger of taking classes with two incredible ladies (Deryn and Kerry) learning incredible things!  Today's entry:  The steel hole punch.  It is simple, not very big, and not very expensive.  I got mine from Fire Mountain.

Besides wanting to make some more cool paddle links, I wanted to take a bunch of the random foreign coins we have laying around from our (mostly Greg's) travel adventures and use them in jewelry.  The hole punch only worked on the lightest coins though, the aluminum-like ones that in this case are from Latvia and one other country I can't decipher (must be a cool place - they have dragons on their coins).  Nothing a drill can't solve for me later, but for now, I took the five coins that I could punch through, some cool gray and black crackly beads and some black chain and put them into this necklace.

Are there more tools headed my way in the mail - oooooooh yeah - more on that soon.  I also have an October Art Bead Scene Challenge entry to share, plus some other ideas.  As always, getting me, my camera, my jewelry, and daylight in the same location has been tough, but tomorrow looks like a fun, mellow day (just jinxed myself, didn't I?)  Enjoy the weekend!

  1. I do love that little tool. If you can, buy an extra punch. They should have replacements. Because the day you snap one off you will be really sad if you don't have a replacement!
    Enjoy the day!
