Sally asked us to reflect on "a small act that brings us in, lifts up our sprits, and brings us together."

Tonight I was playing around, taking pictures of our mantel and the stockings hung-with-care, when I looked down and saw the light shining brightly on the little blue baby Jesus.  I don't often speak here about my beliefs, but as I saw the bright light focused on the manger scene, I was reminded once again of the many, many ways, often so small, that God reminds me of his presence, and makes sure I get the pushes here and there to remember what direction I should be going in.  Holiday hustle and bustle - whatever! What's important that is that I get to spend Christmas with the ones I love.

UPDATE:  I've gotten a lot of great comments about the unusual nativity set - so wanted to add that it's made by the toy company Haba, it's their 44 piece wooden nativity set and it can be purchased here. I bought it when the kids were little so that there would be something unbreakable that they could put together and display at Christmas.  They still love to set it up :-)

  4. Beautiful post! Lovely photo and perfect message for this week, too. I haven't seen a Nativity like this one before and I must say I do like it's non-traditional look/feel.
