Working at the Pentagon and commuting every day through Washington, D.C. traffic is often frustrating and sometimes stressful, but every once in a while something really cool happens, and only because you work right across the river from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.  This year tickets to the annual White House trick or treating event were given out to military families and school kids, and I was able to get on the list.  It was a lot of waiting (to get in) and not much time on the grounds, and as far as I know we saw no one "famous" (then again everyone was in costume) but I could't pass up this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Michal aka Captain America, Emma aka Chef, and me aka a good witch (although in this picture I look like a pilgrim).  Side note - never worn a cape before and it is awesome!  I'll have to work that in to my wardrobe more often :-)

Very cool skeleton band

Blurry but best I could do!

  12. Oh how ultimately cool this would have been to see and participate in! So glad you and your kiddos got to go! Awesome shots. Capes are fun, aren't they?!! You could start a style trend. It would be much nicer than the too-short-shorts the girls wear or the 'hanging of the pants' around the bottom of the boys bums,...IMHO anyway. :-) Great post for this week's prompt!
