I am catching up from last week too - for week 25 Sally asked us to finish the sentence "You are..."

Michael, my self appointed art director (age 10 and preternaturally focused on my weekly prompts), asked me about the next prompt.  At the time he was having a ball "photo bombing" some close ups of flowers with a Lego mini fig.  When I said we needed to finish the statement, "You are..." he filled in "AWESOME" without skipping a beat.  Thanks boyfriend, for thinking your Mom is awesome.

For week 26 Sally lets us pick our own prompt, because, WOOHOO, we are halfway there.  Many, many props to all the blogs keeping up, and many, many thanks to all who have left wonderful comments.  The prompt I pick is "Before."  On Monday our long anticipated remodel project begins.  This second kitchen in our basement/first floor will be reconfigured into a new laundry room.  This project includes buying a new washer and dryer - got any suggestions?

Our current laundry room (where I have built a small lamp working desk) will get finished (behind all that junk is bare mason block), a new tile floor, and will have cabinets on two sides with two work stations.  We'll use the existing laundry exahust to install active exhaust over my lamp work torch.  What this room will become is a 100% full time bead studio, and I am so excited! There is so much to do and there will be a fair amount of chaos (huge understatement!), but I can't wait to show you the after pictures.

Head on over to Sally's blog,

  6. So happy you are having a dream come true, that we all long for. I opt for the new washer and dryer combo's that are front loaders and sit up on stands (so much easier to work with). Our son left us his set when he went off to college in another state, and he IS NOT getting them back!

  10. Oh - another one that gets a studio re-do! Congratulations!

I miss my old washer that would felt for me, but I do love our front loaders as they take a lot of laundry, use a lot less water, and are easy on clothes.

  11. My old washer is on the driveway I save all my wanna be felted knitted things and haul hot water out to it once a summer! My wahser and dryer are LE I got them because stacking the washer and dryer was the only way I was going to be able to fit a freezer into the house,,, and living on an island in the middle of nowhere I decided I needed a freezer! Have fun with the renos. I currently have a kitchen with few walls and no cupboards!

  15. I love the pic of you and Michael in the tea-cup - awesome!!! Congrats on the remodel - wish I had suggestions on the washer/dryer. I like the kind you have pictured because all our friends w/front loaders have experienced problems w/them - but they do look nice and modern!

  17. Awesome, indeed! Congrats on getting a new studio (we bought Sears' washer and dryers 14 years ago... they still work, fingers crossed! I believe they are Maytag's white-branded for Sears).
