Early morning soccer games and swim meets are always fueled by cinnamon rolls at our house. We used to buy the canned ones at the grocery store, but I figured out how to use my bread machine to make great dough for easy peasy home made ones - curves of doughy goodness filled with cinnamon, brown sugar and butter. Emma and Greg are off to an early game this morning, with a tin foil package of these...
Head on over to Sally's blog
to catch more curves!
UPDATE: By popular demand - here is the recipe for "Better Than Grands Cinnamon Rolls":
For dough:
3/4 cup milk (can also use buttermilk)
1 egg
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoon butter
1/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons yeast
Put all in bread machine using "dough" function. Sorry, I don't know how to do this without a bread machine.
When dough is done preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Flour working surface and roll out dough in reactangle-ish shape. In microwave melt together 2-4 tablespoons butter and 2-4 tablespoons cream cheese for about 30 seconds. Mix together (if the butter and cream cheese are a little seperated that's okay). Spread on dough except for 1-2 inches of one long side. Sprinke 1/2 cup or so of brown sugar over butter mixture, then sprinke heavily with cinnamon. Roll dough starting on well buttered long side and ending on unbuttered long side, and apply gentle pressure to "seal" to roll. Use sharp knife to make 1 inch slices that you lay in a baking-sprayed baking dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until edges are browned. As you can tell, these instructions use lots of "ish" measurements. There is lots of room to add more or less depending on your personal preferences.
Pure deliciousness! I can smell them now.
