For the 7th Bead Soup Blog Party, Lori paired me with the lovely Sandra. Sandra sent me a huge soup filled with possibilities. I made 4 pieces and still have a huge pile!
First I combined the beautiful focal and quartz beads that Sandra sent me with some of my own lamp work beads and small turquoise glass beads.
Here's a closer look.
Sandra sent me a length of wire mesh - something I have always wanted to play with. I've always wanted to try stringing beads inside the mesh. If this had been a super sunny day, you might have caught the sparkle of the light purple crystals inside the copper mesh. But even without sun you can see the beautiful toggle clasp Sandra sent me along with another one of my lamp work beads.
This actually started out as a wrap bracelet idea - but now I like it as a necklace.
There were plenty of moon-y pinks in my soup, which seemed to fit perfectly with the other focal that Sandra sent me. It looks like my own little piece of the moon, doesn't it?
Finally (I told you it was a huge soup), the large crystal and the large flat wire loop demanded to be wired together. I am not sure if it looks hip-rustic or super-beginner-wire-wrapper - what do you think? I put it on a long chain, 'cause that's my thing right now :-)
Definitely hop on over and see what Sandra did with the soup I sent her, and then hop over to see all the wonderful participants!

ReplyDeleteLovely pieces! Love what you did with your soup, great job!
ReplyDeleteGina H
Beautiful work. Really like the first one - the focal is very nice and fits in perfectly with the necklace.
ReplyDeleteNice. Love the little pops of color.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous makes!! I love your components and how you combined them - lovely and rustic and blingy all at once!!
ReplyDeleteYour pieces are so sweet it makes me want to play with wire, and that's not something I would normally ever do. The last piece is hip-rustic-super-charming! The only thing that would make it better is if there were a pair of earrings to match it. Not exact matches mind you, but a slight variation on the theme. Excellent use of the Soup, I really enjoyed seeing your pieces, great work!
ReplyDeleteGreat pieces! Can't decide which one I like better, they are all great.
ReplyDeleteCount me a fan! The longer length is really fun. Great soup for starters and love your vision for the pieces.
ReplyDeleteAmazing work !
ReplyDeleteYou rocked these! I love your wire work (not beginner, it's hip!) and I love the mesh necklace. Very cool that it can be either wrap bracelet OR necklace!
