Playing with Aperture to make monochromatic statements - I thought it was funny to learn and play with something marked "Experts Only." On ski slopes I obey these signs - but for creative endeavors I definitely ignore them :-)
Here is the original:

I love how the signs stick out in black and white (and I'm glad that you sometimes ignore them). :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!! Love this.
ReplyDeleteI actually like them better in B/W! Great shot.
ReplyDeleteSo interesting how different they look in b & w!
ReplyDelete(no. 43 this week)
...and now you are an expert!
ReplyDeleteLove the shot~ love the breaking of the rules creatively even more. :)
ReplyDeleteVisually they make a better photo is black and white than in color, as there appears to be more contrast.
ReplyDeleteA fun pic. You did well.
ReplyDeleteCool pictures, Elisabeth...but when I see signs like "Expert Only", well I'd abide by them! Last weekend when we were skiing, I got to the top of a new hill and thought I'd be taking off my skis and walking down (I am a rusty skiier but getting there with more practice!)...I made it fine. My Dad is the one who enticed me up there - he said it wasn't too bad. Once we got off the lift, he admitted he had actually never gone down it before! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference in b&w! And what a fun subject!!
ReplyDeleteSigns I never will see
ReplyDeleteUmhm, like Patty, these are signs I would never see - thanks for sharing! I've had skis on my feet all of one time after my best friend, avid skiier, convinced me to give it a try. She promised ot never ask again if I didn't enjoy... it's a good thing we have other things in common!
ReplyDeleteb&w certainly focusses the eye, doesn't it? a great shot :)
ReplyDeleteLove your post! Good for you taking the expert challenge! lol
ReplyDeleteNo obstacle! You did great! Very interesting photo. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a really neat subject and your metaphor as it pertains to creative endeavors is just perfect. Well done!
