I mentioned previously that I had bought some metal scrapbook labels from Le Bella Joya's destash shop, LeBellaJoyaSupply:

Even though they were clearly labeled (ha ha!) for another purpose all I could think of when I saw them was that they would make interesting links.  And for $2.50 they were a steal!  They have been sitting amongst the clutter that is my jewelry making area (where the magic happens, as they say :-)) and finally put them together with clear foil lined glass beads from Michael's and silver-colored copper wire from Parawire.  I used heavier wire for the jump rings and hook clasp (16g), and lighter wire (20g) to wire the beads to the links and wire wrap the beads linked together to make the rest of the necklace.  When I took these pictures I still had some work to do trimming here and there and tucking ends, and I need to hammer the hook clasp and ear wires a bit (and maybe shorten the ear wires a little?), but I would love to hear what you think!

  1. How cute! Sooo creative! I NEVER would have thought of this. (we beadweavers sometimes have limited imaginations when it comes to using things that aren't beads! Gorgeous!

  3. Great idea, and the results are wonderful. I personally like long earwires, so that I do not loose my earrings.
