A couple months ago I bought a lovely Pretty Fairy Pendant from Earthenwood Studios which I wire wrapped with a beautiful rose bead my husband brought me from London....then I got stuck. I was thinking brown suede cord, maybe braided, tried also some peachy pearls and glass leaf beads, but that wasn't working for me either (see the work in progress here).  It got put aside in the holiday hubbub and subsequent bead table "clean up" because the office/studio is a sometimes guest room.

Then I saw the January Art Bead Scene challenge piece - The Trellis wall paper designed by William Morris.  I saw the lovely olive color and peachy flowers and I knew exactly what to do!

I used sari ribbon from GoldenOneToo combined with long wire wrapped links of olive faceted glass in a long necklace and am very happy with the result.  It's a chilly yet brilliantly sunny day here, and the light was perfect for picture taking.

  1. Oh, I LOVE it--Truly! It's funny how we each come up with something so different! I'm supposed to be finishing mine as I type--ha! It's half done. But mine seems very somber in comparison to your cheerful piece. I really do like this, Elisabeth!

(Of course, your whole blog has a cheerful look to it! And I see you've managed to find some sunshine to photograph in too. I should just stay on this page today! ha!)

  2. Nice catch! I love that pendant...need to go see if I have something stashed away that will motivate me to do a project for this challenge. I already gravitate towards those colors, so it shouldn't be that hard, right? Can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks for the big day!
