I am not one to be nostalgic of younger times - other than a desire to forgo gray hair and crinkles in the corners of my eyes I don't have a hankering to return to high school, college, or the beer infused 20s.  Lots of great memories for sure, but the experiences gained makes me enjoy my now so much more.  Plus having a great husband for 15 years and two kids that bring joy and giggles to my life everyday I wouldn't trade for all the beads in the world.  So not only do I look forward to my birthday, I love reaching another birthday.  I mean - presents are involved - what could be cooler?  It's been a great weekend because we celebrated a little early, on Saturday.  Along with a delish cake from our local pastry shop and a wonderful dinner at a chichi place with long time friends Melinda and Steve, my husband really pulled out the stops in the gift department:

Beautiful flowers

A replacement for a much loved and aged appliance (removing the bottom plate of my current bread machine is often required to keep it running)

And be still my beading heart...a lampworking starter kit.  Apparently the dropped hints and e-mails filled with hyper links worked.

The birthday goodness continues because I have taken the day off, it's 11 and I am still in my PJs, and we have a fun day planned with a bestest girlfriend and her kids.

So I must pay forward all of this goodness with a little giveaway.  Leave a comment and I will draw names next Friday, April 8th.

  9. Happy Birthday Elisabeth! You are being spoiled!
My own birthday was a couple of weeks away and even though I couldn't enjoy it too much because my health condition I also had great presents and even though I missed my own birthday lunch (I fell asleep, I know how lame of me) but I didn't miss my birthday cake and presents.
I love the fact that over all presents and celebrations you are happy with your life. THAT is worth a celebration.
