I heard a new term in the beading blogging world and it's cracking me up - BEAD PORN!  I heard it (and saw some awesome pictures, dude!  Gotta check them out...) on KJ's blog for her shop Silver Parrot Designs.  Ever found yourself sneaking into a bead shop while you are out "grocery shopping" or made sure you get the mail from the mailbox so your sweetie doesn't see yet another small bubble wrapped package?  Luckily my sweetie understands this obsession I have, maybe because some day I hope to make some sales to justify the madness?  Who knows, I just know that he's the perfect guy for me, thank goodness!

So it will not surprise you on a recent trip to New York that he went along with my plan to "just stop into" a bead shop we passed on Broadway.  As it turns out, we needed to walk by on the way to catch our train home, but we were running a little late, so I had about 10 minutes to dive into the deliciousness at Beads World.  Hah!  Even in 10 minutes I can do some major damage!  So here is some bead porn of my own to share....

I have no idea what the pinkish ones are - shell that's been formed into rounds?  But I totally dug the kelly green added in.  The turquoise is similar to some beads my bead buddy Jen gave me, which ended up looking way cool in this necklace.  Thought I would see where some more beads like it would take me (plus gemstone beads were 50% off at Beads World).

I loved the silver edges of these blue glass beads, and the red crystals are just like ones I used in some turquoise necklaces that became Christmas gifts - these will help me recreate some of that loveliness.

Digging wood beads these days also.  Thought I saw some of the grayish ones on one of the blogs/in a bead magazine/used in a challenge piece recently.  I wish the large wood bead strand hadn't ended up at $29, but I was in a bead porn haze and so some of the other good deals I got will have to make up for it.

Oh, and we did do some other stuff in NYC:
