This month Sally has asked us to focus on simplicity.  Since so many things kick of in September, a little piece of calm is called for.  In fact, I am going to keep things so simple that this week's picture is pulled out of the archives :-), from Easter.  I am lucky that my brother, my only sibling, and his family live near by, and our tradition is to swap the annual Easter egg hunt between our houses.  This last spring it was at their house, and even though the kids have mostly grown out of the fantasy of the Easter bunny, we still make them hide inside while the parents hide eggs outside.  We hide them low for my littlest niece, who is 5, and extra high for my daughter Emma, who is two inches taller than I am :-) Actually, my littlest niece is a charmer and has Emma help her get as many eggs as possible (you can probably see that in the picture).  I love the happy and intent on winning faces on everyone in this picture, and the nice clothes everyone is wearing, and the lovely light of a beautiful spring morning.

  1. A lovely door! How fun that you are so close to your brother and his family so the cousins can grow up together. Our nieces an nephews are fairly close and it's so nice to see them all bonding.

  3. How sweet. And the dearest part is how Emma is helping to shepherd the little ones to their fun. What a great choice for this week's theme.
