I was out walking my faithful if kibble obsessed companion this evening, and it dawned on my that I should put some thought into this week's post. A quick check of my e-mail to remind myself of this week's prompt and I knew I was set - I had a great picture from the fall that would fit perfectly. e.z.p.z. But then Layla stopped to sniff right under a cherry tree that was snowing blossoms. Fresh blooms to aged, in just a couple weeks and thanks to a storm this morning.
Poor girl is wounded - the Lab equivalent of an ingrown toenail gone bad.
And here is the picture I first thought of.
See other awesome aged examples over on Sally's bog,
Great picture of the blooms. And chairs aging in the garden are one of my favorite subjects.
ReplyDeleteOmigosh, those petals are wonderful!...and I love your chair. My old baby Libby says "Get well soon!" to yours. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your "old" petals, and the chairs. Hope your poor baby gets well soon!
ReplyDeletePoor puppy. I hope she feels better soon. I love the cherry blossoms, although it is sad they are all off of the trees.
ReplyDeleteOh, poor little guy...the petal carpet is a great find, as well as those old chairs...it's neat how things patina to look like what they are surrounded by in the 'wild'...gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI like the pic of the blooms...goes to show how some things last such a short time..
ReplyDeletei just love fallen cherry blossoms - looks like a wedding! the weather's been bitter here, so no signs of any blossom yet! love the rusty ironwork too :)
ReplyDeletehave a wonderful week!

Those chairs look so lonely... I wish I had cherry blossoms littering my yard.. I don't even have my croci anymore since the deer ate them! I had little irises yesterday... wonder if they survived the snow, rain and deer last night?
ReplyDeleteLove the pink snow! Hope Layla heals quickly.
ReplyDeleteI'm in love w/your cherry blossom photos! Great perspective. Reminds me of the cherry tree in our backyard when I was growing up. Your poor pup - hope she heals quickly (she so cute!!) and the last photo is just dream-worthy!!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! A carpet of pink petals. *Sigh*
ReplyDeleteI hope your lab recovers quickly!
Wonderful Elisabeth, showing how fast the petals become aged in their short life span. The old chairs on the fence line sit quite and forgotten, beautiful shot!
ReplyDeleteTherese
Great shots! So many petals - looks ready for a bride to walk down.
ReplyDeleteLove the cherry blossoms, I am working on a glass piece right now that was inspired by my trees falling blooms much like yours. Hope you pup is feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful walk - your pup is sure smart to lead you to them! I love the old chairs too, they seem to whisper some secrets, as they sit next to each other :) I hope Layla is feeling better!
