Friday night (after an awesome class with
Kerry Bogert at
ArtBliss - more on that soon!) I continued west to Middleburg, Virginia to the
Meadowkirk Retreat and Conference Center for a church council retreat. Kind of a crazy amount of family logistics to allow me to attend ArtBliss and this retreat, but both were oh so worth it. It's so quiet and peaceful at Meadowkirk, and the weather couldn't have been better. One of my coucilmates declared it an excellent evening to sleep outside so we did! Four of us drug our mattresses outside and fell asleep with a million stars in the sky and woke up to beautiful fog lying across the hills.
Before lunch we were dismissed for an hour of quiet contemplation ("this means no phones!") so I headed out with my camera and had a wonderful time. Some macro and some not so macro - enjoy!

Sounds like a wonderful time and you got some great shots! I love the close up of the fence.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Love the gate and chair composition.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I love the foggy pics.
ReplyDeleteGreat captures of all that is beautiful and serene about being in the country. The bands of fog wrapped around the trees are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Leah
Wow, slept outside, haven't done that since I was a kid, i'll bet that felt great! Sorry to have missed you at Artbliss, glad you had such a great time and so much inspiration! Love the pics especially the thistle!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful area for a retreat - would love to visit this place. My sister's horse is out this way so maybe one day I'll be able to check it out while visiting the barn. Your pictures are so pretty!
