We are lucky to live in the same area as Mount Vernon - George and Martha Washington's historic home. It has been ages since we have visited, so while my Mom and her sweetie were visiting over the kids spring break, we spent a lovely sunny afternoon there.  The gardens are really spectacular...

  11. This post reminds me that I, too, have not been to Mount Vernon in years! I worked in Olde Towne for nearly 20 years, and passed by George and Martha's house daily on Mount Vernon Highway, oblivious to its rich history and gorgeous gardens. Now I am ready to go! Love the last picture!
