I am patting myself on the back this morning - I got my planned-in-my-head Margie and Me done on time, it came together liked I imagined, and I was able to take photos outside in good light. Been a while since the stars have aligned in that way! Marcie posted two inspirations and color palettes, and I loved the classic but not usual color combos and the clean lines of this one:
Right away I thought of these rainbow agate beads that I bought at a little bead shop in Manchester, New Hampshire. They caught my eye when I bought them and I was excited that they echoed Marci's palette.
I am striving to do different things with my stringing. Lately that has meant a lot of wire wrapping, but instead of pulling out the wire I came up with this asymmetrical necklace:
You really can wear it any which way, and I love how the plain, matte, ho hum beige beads have found a way to look exciting. I added a Gaea bead left over from my March ABS entry for the touch of yellow. Be sure to head on over to La Bella Joya to see the other entries, and have a wonderful weekend!
this is gorgeous Elisabeth! I love the asymmetry of it! I'm truly horrible at assymetry! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth, this necklace is totally beautiful, will go with pretty much anything ttfn L:)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! That was a tough challenge!
ReplyDeleteWay to go girl! I love these challenges so much, because I get to see how someone else interprets the colors and design. I love this necklace for it's soft, easy wearability. It would definitely be a staple in my jewelry box.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you chose. Its so "wearable" and would be easy to match with a lot of outfits.
ReplyDeleteLove those agates - almost reminds me of a rainbow sherbet or something like that. Beautiful necklace!
