A few months ago I went to Bead Fest Wire in King of Prussia, PA, with my favorite bead nerd and mentor, Jen. While there I took a class on basic wire wrapping, spent an inordinate amount of money on beads, had some beers and a great catch up with Jen and got to meet the ladies bringing us ArtBLISS - Jeanette and Cindy. All around a great weekend of beady goodness. While there I picked up this book which inspired the following pair of earrings:
I posted the picture of the earrings on my very first blog post, and had meant to put them on Etsy, but a weekend dinner with friends and a black outfit required that they become part of my own jewelry collection. My friend Sarah, Beads for Busy Gals #1 customer, saw them on the blog and asked why they weren't on Etsy. Ooops! Of course the beads I used were found in a random stash I inherited, and I didn't have any more. Darn - bead shopping required! I ordered large square seed beads in opaque black, hematite black and black iris and tried to recreate the earrings. Here is how they came out:
It's hard to see a difference in the beads in the picture - heck, it's even hard to tell with the naked eye - but it will give Sarah a couple options. The other two pairs will go on Etsy shortly.
DON'T forget! I am having a give away on the 4th of July. Check out the details here.
It was so fun to meet you at Bead Fest! And I agree...Denise's book is a wonderful inspiration. Your earrings are great...I can see wearing them all the time! No wonder they became part of your personal jewelry collection!
ReplyDeleteYay! I love that I was mentioned by name in your blog! Sorry you had to buy more beads to make the earrings for me - but they are wonderful and I love them!
